Quick answers

Does Xlate work with Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams?

Yes, when the meeting runs in a browser tab. Xlate listens to that tab’s audio in Chrome or Edge on a computer, so no bot joins and nothing needs installing. Desktop apps can’t be captured directly: join from your browser instead (all three offer that), or use your microphone. Firefox, Safari and phones can’t share a tab’s audio.

Can Xlate translate a meeting into English in real time?

Yes. Captions appear in the language being spoken with an English translation beside each line, and speakers are labelled. Translation is into English. When the meeting ends you get a summary with action items and decisions.

Is my audio stored?

No. Audio is streamed for transcription and isn't stored by Xlate. Transcripts and summaries are saved in your private workspace until you delete them, or for as long as your auto-delete window allows. Providers that handle your data: Soniox (speech-to-text), OpenAI (translation, summaries and answers), Supabase (database and sign-in) and Stripe (payments). Details are in the Privacy Policy.

Which languages does it support?

60+ languages, detected automatically and translated into English. Accuracy varies by language and audio quality, and we have tested some languages far more than others, so try yours on the free plan first. See the full list on the languages page.

Is there a free plan?

Yes. Free includes 60 minutes of live transcription and translation every month, and no credit card is needed to start.

Do I need to tell participants I'm using Xlate?

Yes. Recording and transcription laws differ from place to place, and you're responsible for telling participants and getting any consent required. Xlate asks you to confirm this before every session.

How accurate is it?

Transcription and translation are automatic and can make mistakes, especially with noise, overlapping speakers or specialist terms. Check anything important, and add names and jargon to the glossary.

What happens when I use all my minutes?

New sessions pause until your minutes reset or you upgrade. A session already in progress is allowed to finish, up to your plan's maximum session length. You're never charged for going over.

How long can one session be?

Up to 2 hours on Free and Starter, 3 hours on Business and 4 hours on Enterprise. About 15 minutes before the limit you get a warning. When the limit is reached the session ends, everything so far is saved, and you can start a new session straight away to keep going.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time from Settings > Manage billing. Your plan stays active until the end of the billing period. See our Refund Policy for the 14-day guarantee on your first payment.
